After a couple months my rose has split. I actually observed most of the process and caught a few pics on my digi cam. The pics kinda suck due to low light conditons and learning how to use my new camera, however, you get the idea

I was fortunate enough to see most of the split. I got home late and was looking at my tank in the dark. I noticed that the rose was attached to the overflow and wondered what was going on. I saw the base really stretched out and thought could it be the start of a split? I took my cam and took a pic before there was any tear. Within 10 minutes, I noticed the first tear. I took several pics and within 15 minutes or so, most of the split had occurred. There still was tissue joining the 2 together, but it was minimal. I figure the entire split probably didnt take more than an hour. I went to bed after 15-30 minutes from the onset of the split. When I awoke, I had 2

I never actually got to see mine split, but am glad you were around to catch yours. How long did it take for yours to finally heal over? I noticed a "seam" along the entire body of both of mine for several months afterwards... I traded one of the splits away while it still had this seam, and it's doing fine, however I'm curious how other's have done.

At $150-200 each, that was no inconsequential splitting.

Can you tell me what else is in your tank and what size is it?

I would love to duplicate your feat, if possible.
