How do I raise my ALK???????

Hi
I wanted to raise my ALK its at 3.0 now and want to raise it cuz I think its low my PH is at 8.4 witch is cool nitrite is 0, Ammonia is 0, Nitrate is @50 (high I know working on it) and my CA is at @ 500
So how do I raise my ALK without doing my CA and PH?
Also is 500 high for CA ?

You might try Kent pro-Buffer dKH. This has helped me raise and maintain my KH.

rockdiver. You do not "need" to raise your alk. It's is already higher than NSW. NSW has alk of 2.3 meq/l - 2.5 meq/l and calcium around 410ppm. Why do you want to raise it? I wouldn't add anything. I'd let both parameters slide back down closer to NSW levels. While some reefers maintain alk as high as 4.0 meq/l, to increase calcification in corals, there is no benefit to increasing calcium over 410ppm. I learned this from the experts in other posts.

Also read the faq's on calcium and alkalinity. It is all well explained there.
