For those familiar with the IceCaps (I know...another icecap question
icon_rolleyes.gif
...and I did a search first and didn't find anything on this)...the fact that I'm not an electrician should be obvious shortly

. The wiring harness that connects to the endcaps....how the heck does it attach? (Soldering?). I see where it goes into the endcap and where they attach but just don't know HOW.

Thanks!!

You push the wires in the appropriate holes. Inside there is a clip that holds the wire, make sure you test by trying to pull the wire back out once you have inserted it.

Once inserted to the right hole, it's very hard to pull it back out again. It's possible but hard.

If you need to disconnect it (like to temporarily removing the light hood for some reason) you will be SOL!

I had to cut the wires on mine and install a quick disconnect plug later.

Liem, there is a way to disconnect the spring tension without having to cut the wire, it shows it on the instructions. Its just a simple matter of inserting a small screw driver or similar object and the clip disengages.

Yes. I was able to remove the wire after I took the hood off from the top of the tank and unscrew the end socket from the hood. When installed, the hood blocks access to the little holes to release the wire!

I was trying to say that one may want to think through all possible senarios before building and installing lights to the hood. I didn't envision having to take down the light hood!

You guys are talking about directions and such that I KNOW weren't included in mine...screw this and clip that. My instructions just show the wiring diagram.
