I have a red goni for exactly one year

In a very heavily skimmed tank (38 gallons with a EV-150). Stong lighting, 400 watt halide 6500k, and actinic. It is directly under the halide, though 12" under water surface. Medium-strong water flow with wave maker.

It's receded when I moved a few months ago. Though it's regrown over the receded area by about 50%. All in all, it's doing really well. I heard before I got this red goni that they are the type that do well for long-term.

I've also seen that the green types may fair well if kept in groups of more than one, such that the tentacles of adjacent specimens touch when opened fully.

How big is it in comparison to when you first brought it home?

since someone replied to it anyhow..

the skeleton is exactly the same size as when I got it. (I think). I wouldnt imagine that they grow very fast once they are past the 'juvenile' stage. I've only seen very few 'big' gonipora.

Look at some of the photos of wild sections of goniopora in veron, and I think you might change your mind about that. Just because collected specimens may be small.. it can get quite large, and even make pillars.
