Has anyone had any good experience with any 1 particular internet dealer of live rock? Obviously i'm looking for nice pieces for decent prices. Thanks in advance!
I second the vote for Paragon, best Fiji in the northeast. I also was very impressed with www.gulf-view.com for aquacultured rock. I got the 30 lb coralline special last month. It came out to about $4.30 lb. I requested certain sized pieces and got EXACTLY what I wanted. It is a little denser than the Fiji I've seen, but the shapes are comparable to Fiji. This rock cured in about a week. Life in the rock is excellent, comparable to what I've seen on Paragon's rock and possible even better. So far I've seen 5 different coral species, several tunicates, sponges, several macroalgaes, three sea urchins, lots of brittle stars, limpets, snails, clams, worms, feather dusters, three crabs, NO mantis shrimp so far. The rock has been in a curing tub for three weeks and I have loads of copepods reproducing in the tub.

I'll have to get back to you on that one Steve. My Aquarium Corals book is in my new apartment.
I have some type of moon coral, cup corals, what Dale at Gulfview calls tube corals, unidentified coral that may be another moon/brain and the other coral I IDed from a fairly recent thread on an anenome that tured out to a coral. It had a really good picture.
I just got some of the Deco-Pack from Flying Fish Express, and am happy. Although the Fiji is nothing great, the colors and shapes of the Hapai and especially the deepwater Tonga rock are excellent. MUCH better than the stuff at the LFS that they're trying to sell for $10.99 a pound.
I've bought over a few and my favorite Aquatic Specialists. But I think the thing that I noticed is what type of rock you want and what kind of reef you want to replicate. If you like fiji then I agree with the above. But I prefer Indio pacific. It look more attractive IMO. It is a bit more but it WELL worth it.
My best experience has been with Paragon as well. I live on the West Coast, so I just had a box of the RAW fiji rock shipped to my local airport. The rock was definitely raw, I picked out as much bad stuff as possible and the rest has been awesome.
This is what corals I have on my Gulfview rock, ID's are the best of my ability
.
Favites sp.(moon coral)
Phyllangia americana(hidden cup coral)
Oculina diffusa?(diffuse ivory bush coral) I have several of these, some damaged, one has pink branches.
Mystery brown coral that looks like a small Fungia coral attached to the rock, it doesn't look like another cup coral.
I thought I had two different cup corals but both look like P. americana.

Fiji uncured live rock for like $2.25 per pound + shipping. Airfrieght on $50 from LA to Philly was less than $50. I think it is like $80 for 150 pounds. You have to pick it up at the airport. It is AWESOME stuff. All different sizes. Lots of life.....
Half the price of all the others listed so far.
I got my LR from them about 18 months ago and it has been great...
Only 1 mantis, which I found in the shipping box.
There were a couple of predatory snails and a particularly nasty hairy white crab, but a lot of nice little SPS colonies and a couple of different featherdusters...Lots of limpets and some interesting bristle worms..
