What combination of pc lamps do you use for your 55, and what corals are your keeping well under them? Trying to decide what bulbs and how many watts to go for. Thanks in advance.

Go for 4x96...3 6700k, and 1x7100k blue.
Had that for 2 years, and successfully kept many sps.

I use 6X55W, 2 actinic, 2 6700k, 2 10000k. Not really happy with my color choice, its too yellow. Maybe should have gone with 4 10000k or replaced the 6700k with those 50/50 actinic/daylight bulbs.

Hi,at present i have 2x36w pc with 10000k bulbs.i supplement that with 2 NO actinics and the corals that are doing well under them so far are 1 plate corals, several kinds of leathers, zooanthids, green star polyps, hammer coral, bubble coral,xenia(2 kinds),shrooms. For some reason,Lemnalia(i think) and yellow polyps dont seem to be doing well.I am going to add another 2x36W pc,but dont know whether to get 10000k or 6500k bulbs. What do you guys think?

I've got 4 x 55 w PC, on my 55g 2 are 6700K, 2 actinic.

Corals kept over 1 year: Scolymia, Candy Coral, Tooth Coral, various leather frags and other misc frags and oodles of shrooms.

In the last 6 months to one year I've had Galaxia, Torch, Pipe Organ.

I've had no luck with SPS frags, but that is mainly because something bulldozes them over behind the rocks where they don't get any light, and I can't retrieve them without ripping the whole tank apart. IF I try again, I'll somehow fasten the frag to a HUGE LR...
