Maybe im being a tad bit paranoid but i just tested my nitrite and ammonia in my 2.5y/o tank it both where at or near the 0.25ppm level. I dont know if its realy cause for concern but the nitrite and ammonia are always 0.

I did a major cleaning on the tanks cannister yesterday i probably had the thing off for an hour (water still in the cannister). I did however fumble with some of the biomedia spilling it onto the carpet however i was quick to scramble all the pieces trying not to handle them too much (biochemstars). Anyhow tonight i yanked out all the live rock and cleaned in a pale filled with the tanks water. I did this because my tank was overcome by hair algae over the past months so i did like any good enthusiast would do and scrubbed the rock with a toothbrush. I also added 40lbs of bio-active aragonite to the tank but u'd think if anything that'd contribute to the biological filtration. Is this momentary disruption something to be overly concerned about or is it mearly due to the disruption in the tank the last 2 days? It should also be noted about 5 hours ago i added a teaspoon of Vital Coral to help rejuvinate the live rock coraline. Anyway I'am very concerned maybe just a bit too paranoid, comments please..

ps. last week i added volitan lion to the tank. My filtration is a fluval cannister with biochem and bioballs, a bakpak skimmer, and 60lbs live rock, water flow is achieved using 2 fluval 802 powerheads on full

I would not worry too much. YOur tank is going through a tiny dieoff secondary to your disruption. Your bacterial colinys will multiply to handle the extra waist. Should be back to 0 in no time at all. You might try a water change if you are worried about it. Getting your nutrients down will also help rid your tank of the microalgae.
