1/16 inch pink worm????

while looking in my tank with a flashlight a few minutes ago i noticed this pink worm swimming around...it was about 1/16 of an inch looks kind of like a pod except it has no legs...looks like a tee-tiny pink silk worm, almost white looking? what is this thing and does it do harm??

I think what you have there is a bristleworm. I had a stampede of those things a couple of weeks ago after my main tank lights went out, and they were swimming towards my refugium lights. Haven't seen them since, and I think they made good food for my fish. I've heard that they're bad for clams, though. HTH
