I am looking to upgrade from my florescent tubes (3 x 25 watt 10,000K, 1 x actinic 25 watt and 1 X 50/50 25 Watt) on my 35 UK gallon tank so I can keep SPS and clams. My LFS has recommended a 150 watt MH with a 30 Watt actinic and a 10,000k 25 watt tube coming on 30 mins earlier. This works out at 5.85 watts per UK Gallon.
Is my LFS giving decent advice? Do I need more watts per gallon? Please advise as I am fed up with wasting money on equipment that I just have to upgrade 6 months later.
