burning candles

I burn candles (lightly) in my apartment, although I don't allow smoking or any air sprays, etc around the tank. One of my girlfriends living room smelled strongly of candle scent to where I had to go into the next room. She has a FO tank, do you all think that is harmful for the tank?

Not so sure that it is bad for the fish but it is probably impolite or inconsiderate. The fish can't just get up and walk out of the room if they don't like the smell.

You may want to quote Steve Martin and ask your friend "Do you mind if I fart?" And when she says yes, ask "how do you think your fish feel?".

After that comment I wonder if he still has a girlfriend. Then again we've all given up something we love for the sake of fish?

That remind me of some Chinese homes where they burn incenses (spelling??) like day and night, yet they always have a tank-full of either Gold fish, Parrot fish, Discus, or Arrowana.
