long tentacle plate coral

just got one for a gift, acclimated it in my tank and now the tentacles look like they burst, they have holes in them and are deflated... is this coral dead? its on the sand bed under 175w metal halide and actinic vho. it was fully expanded at the lfs.

ok its been a little while now and they are slightly coming back to life, maybe this isnt so bad.

well the lights are about to go off, just the vho's have been on for about an hour now and the holes that were ripped into every tentacle are slowly being repaired it seems. hopefully i can get this back to what it looked like at the lfs, about 7" in circumference with 3-4" tentacles(it was gorgeous.
