new anenome or new clowns?

Hey all,

I have a 80gal tank moderately stocked tank. Right now i have a bta and 2 tank raise occelaris clowns, needless to say netiher are tanking to eachother. The clowns have no interst whatsoever, they just stay in their corner and never leave.

my question was, do you think it would be better to get rid of the clowns (and get ones that host bta's) or get rid of the anenome, in favor of ones the clowns might go in (i was thinking carpet anenome) I need the clowns to stay small, and dont want to get a massive anenome either...what do you guys think?

what would be my best chance for success in getting this relationship working?? thanks...

Patience.

Many people have had A. ocellaris take to a bta. It just takes time.

Maroon clowns which will go with the BTA will get big and mean while other host anemone will get big in your tank. Just leave them be. After several months, hopefully they will pair up.

catch the clowns. you need to take the clowns with your hand and place them inside the BTA. wiggle them around all over so that they feel each other. this should help them get acquainted. HTH

I just removed some aggressive clowns and put in an ocellaris pair. I am still happier with the less aggressive clownfish.....Someone else here in the city said his initial pair took six weeks to go into the BTA and he had all but given up hope, so it may happen yet.

To be honest, the clownfish/anemone thing is great, but when my clowns starting dragging in the fireshrimp, and then went for the jawfish..no, it's just not that important to me anymore.
