?on set up of refugium

i just purchased a 20 gallon glass tank and an overflow box. a 1/4 inch piece of acrylic. i would like to know how to construct a refugium under my tank. i have an overfow box. i will have to pump water up approx. 58 inches from the refuge.what kind of pump to get the water back up to the main tank? and where to position the acrylic? also any substrate ideas. i have a 6 inch live sand bed in the main tank. tank is a 55.

i am uncertain if i can use the plexiglass panels, and bond them with aquarium silicone to the glass tank.
