I found my suncoral had fallen from its spot and lay face down on the sand. I put it back and figured it had laid on the sand maybe 4-5 hours. Well now the polyps seem to be pushing out some black soil looking goop and the tissue seems to be receding? Also, some of the mouths of the polyps are open and I can see skeleton on the inside

On my sun coral they will on occasion have their mouths open so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

The other thing I don't have a clue on.

See if it will feed tonight of tommorrow. It might just me a bit ticked off from the face plant in the sand.

How long have you had the coral?

Thanks for the reply.

Ive had the coral 6+ months. I guess I never noticed any of the mouths open before without its polyps tou too feed. Im thinking that it did its face plant when its polyps where open. It then tried to close up and took some sand internally. It tried to digest this and puked it out black. This is my theory at least, and it couldnt have been good for them. But hopefully they will remove the sand and be fine.
