Anyone interested in a reefkeeping simulator?

chris sounds like you have a winner... i was talking about it with some guys from lost boys studio, and they loved the idea... thought it was great. If ya still want the help i can do what i can. Mabey model some of the fish and corals. Is this going to be a 3d enviroment? or forced perspective? If you want to see some of my work just aske, i can e-mail some pics to you.

I was considering doing something like that, but I'm sure that there would be a conflict there. Some skimmers outperform others that cost the same, and the "simulation pack" will show this. I don't know if a manufacturer wants their name involved if its going show they aren't the best.

Oh, and I was 7 when Space Invaders came out. I've been a big gamer and obviously like reefs.

More importantly, though, I could definitely help with logging bugs accurately and interface suggestions.

Interfaces are everything.

I've been getting a few emails from guys interested in testing for me. I can't guarantee anything at this point, but go ahead and give me your contact info, and I'll save all your names on a list. I'll probably need about 10 guys to test, so its first come, first served.

Rover, right now I'm just concentrating on making the software. I will be shopping it around to publishers upon completion and they will deal with distribution. If a publisher is not interested, then I will pay to have discs and packaging pressed myself and I will handle distribution. It will be a much smaller amount, but it should be plenty for demand. I may go this route if a publisher doesn't offer me enough money too.

The game is fully 3D with a controlable camera. There will be options to view the tank from a fish's perspective too.

There will be 30 fish species in the initial release. There is also a scripting language that allows non-programmers to set fish behavior parameters. Email me some samples to [email protected]

I will be asking people to beta test this once it is near completion. Anyone who beta tests will receive a free copy of the final release and a lot of thanks from me.
