I got sick of my old cleaning magnet keep falling off and so set off to buy a new one.

I started by looking at the most expensive one in the shop, a Tunze. The man behind the counter said "watch you don't get your fingers caught in it" as the two halves snapped shut with a part of my finger in between.

The pain was intense and I had difficulty pulling the two halves apart. In fact I simply could not pull them apart - I had to twist them off. As I inspected the blood blister on my finger I muttered "I'll take it"

It seems good at cleaning into the corners (does not fall off at any rate)- though it's fair to say I always keep my glass clean so I've not tried removing anything too stuborn yet.

Algae Free makes a new floating magnet it's great! I use it on my large acrylic tank. Its called the Hammerhead float, I got mine at Premium Aquatics. I here there is another one comming out the Piranha float due out in the next few weeks too.

It zips right around the corners and the interior piece floats to the top when disengaged, although its hard to get it to come off.

I would check them out!

I have heard that Tunze makes a real large one that has a warning on the box. It says that if the two pieces actually get stuck together that it has to be removed at the factory. I think that one is made for really thick glass. They are actually quite dangerous...
