I have a 40 Gallon tank with a 10 Gallon sump, 45 lbs of live rock and only three corals, a bunch of snails, a couple crabs and 2 cleaner shrimp. My live rock is covered with tons and tons of grape caulerpa.

I came back from a week in the Dominican and all my caulerpa had gone sexual, the water is all cloudy and all my snails and feather duster seem to be dying. Might the caulerpa turning to goo have something to do with this?

Yes it most certainly can

I would do as large a water change as I could and run carbon. i think you may need to prune more often. I have heard, too, that dosing Fe has kept the caulerpa fromgoing sexual.

Sounds like it goes postal...not sexual. How often do you have to trim it? Mine is in the refugium, does not seem to be growing that fast yet. Have only had it a couple of weeks. My tangs are at the LFS waiting for me to pick them up. I wanted them to keep them together for 4 weeks before I bought them and they agreed. Today I went to visit them and they have ich...surprise, surprise. They have had them about 10 days. Once I bring them home I don't know if I will have enough caulerpa if it doesn't start growing soon. Caulerpa is hard ro find in my area for some reason.
If it ever grows I will trade it at the LFS, when they get any in it goes very fast.
