Okay, since they say the only stupid question is the one left unasked, what exactly do the 50GPD, 100GPD, etc. ratings signify? I know GPD stands for gallons per day, but I'm not sure what to make of that. Does it mean the unit is capable of producing that many gallons of purified water per day? Are lower-GPD units superior because they exclude more pollutants? Could someone please explain?
hi.
You can think of the GPD as how fast can the RO produce the good water. For most people with a storage tank, and need less water than the size of the storage tank, GPD is not important. But it will be nice to have a fast unit for emergency when you need 10 gal of RO in 2 hours, for example.
