I have to do some a new plumbing arrangement on a new 280 that is on the way. I am going to use the sump and ref. set I currantly have. In this set up I have the following pumps, 2 1800gph Mag (one for each return)coming out one end of the sump. I also have a 1800 mag coming out of one end of the ref. going to 2 sea swirls. and finally a mag 1800 on a in sump skimmer.
*pleas not the sump and ref. are joined by a 2 inch bulk head as pictured below.
What I would like to do is to remove all mag pumps and replace the water flow system with 2 amp master 3000's. My tought was to just drill the sump at the end where the mags are and to drill the ref. where its mag is. Install bulkheads to feed either pump. From that point I was going to attach a riser to a customised manifold. (basically both ampmasters feed the 2 inch manifold) then build in various outlets with ball valves going to each of the items I need to feed. ie 2 returns, 2 sea swirls, skimer and chiller.
Question is. is this the best way to take advantage of the pumps power or is thier a beter way. IE: individualising them.
