Can a sponge be cut?

I'd like to put a small piece of a sponge into a nano reef from my 75 gallon, and was wondering if they can be cut like corals can.

Go for it. A full sized sponge can grow from a single cell. It just takes a long time.

Sponges can be put in a blender to make thousands of new ones.

The sponges growing at school came from no where and are growing on wormwood rock of all things. I must of hard a particles or two on the rocks I brought in from my home tank. I have no clue

really.

Yes, go ahead, just make sure they are not exposed to air at all. Not even a second.
