I have recently set up a tank and it was already used as salt water and I put a yellow tang in it and it has some red-orange color on its fins and top part of the body. Please help.

Don't get excited. Just maintain your water quality. Don't make any big changes. It will clear up.

Tangs can get this from time to time. Usually means you are not maintaining water quality. It could just be he is stressed. Give him time to settle down. If he is eating, all should be well in a few days.

is the red in the fins or on its body... if it is in the fins could be a a virus of sorts or even stress. When i added my yellow tank to the tank his fins turned bright orangeish red. once he aclimated he was fine.. now when ever i add something to the tank and he gets scared he still does it. Have had him for 2 years though... (KNOCKING ON THE WOOD TABLE)Try posting a pic of him though and give more info on the tank such as levels and age of tank.
the info i gave is just from the incident that i experianced with my tang and doest mean it will with everyones
