Hello to all.I'm new to this board. I just got a Chevron tang to add to my 40 gallon. I have a marroon clown, cuban hogfish and flame angel. It is a semi reef; some mushrooms, polops and star polops. I have a protein skimmer and uv filter. As weel as wet/dry filtration. My chevron was in quarantine for two weeks. During the entire time he had a small irregular blemish on one pectoral fin. It got no bigger,no smaller, for two weeks.I finally put him in my main tank, thinking he'd be etter off there. Now I'm worried. What could that "blemish" be? HE's eating spirulina algae and mysis shrimp(with garlic),and he's grazing on the live rock. IS he ok? Any one who has experience with chevrons please comment. Thanks so much.

I wouldn't be alarmed yet, however keep an eye on this "blemish" to make sure it does not change for the worse. The fish sounds like it is acting okay. NOW...Can we talk about your stocking level?! You have way too many fish in a tank that size. I hope you are planning a serious upgrade soon or that you are willing to thin the herd a bit. As those fish grow and fight to establish territory, I'm afraid you are going to see a lot of aggresion=stress=illness=death. Sounds morbid I know, but your tank is simply too small for all those fish. I think you're looking at at least 90 gallons to house them in relative comfort for any length of time. JWT
