I am looking to buy live mysis shrimp and live bloodworms. Any idea where I can find some of these? Please advise.

Kordon used to sell live bloodworms in a breathable plastic bag, but our distributor no longer carries them. Here is a link.

live mysis you are talking about, are you refering to the ones we occassionally encounter in our aquarium, or the ones that are harvested by PE? If it's the latter, it's not economical to ship them live as their temp requirement is very low. If it's the former, I do not know of anyone that is breeding them yet. I have seen some companies that is announcing the production of "live mysis", but on-line order is not available yet.

I kept a herd of seahorses in my reef tank. Other than feeding them frozen PE mysis, I also supplement their diet with live saltwater ghost shrimps (Palaemonetes vulgaris) from Sach Aquaculture. Another choice is the red Hawaiian shrimps from Ocean Rider. The Hawaiian red shrimps are much smaller in volume per shrimp, about 10 red shrimps to one ghost shrimp.

Thanks for the replies, but the question now becomes, are the red feeder shrimp as desireable by my fish as the frozen mysis? Are they the same size, similiar nutrional value, etc? I am looking to feed these to my Copperbanded B/F. He loves live brine and frozen mysis. Logic would say that he would love llive mysis, but will he like the red shrimp. Guess there is one sure way to fins out.

I can guarantee he is going to like the red shrimps, but like I said, the shrimps are very small, adult about 1/2" in size. OceanRider is selling them $70/500 shrimps, that comes out to 14 cents each, which is quite expensive IMHO. Heck, the ghost shrimps I am getting on regular basis are about the same price (I think shipping included too!).

Whether they are nutritionally comparable? I have no idea.

I think the best nutrition you can provide to your BF would still be frozen mysis soaked in Selcon.
