The only email I received from this board is a warning to watch my language........

First, the obligatory request- please post questions/comments/suggestions in the appropriate forum. They get lost way too easily elsewhere, and may not get seen.

rockdiver, I answered your question via email roughly an hour ago. For the benefit of all, I'll paste the response here.

<blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr>

We have sent nothing of the sort. The Klez virus picks a random email
address from the address book of the person it has infected, and inserts it
into the emails that the virus generates. Microsoft Outlook and Outlook
Express' option of automatically adding people you reply to into your
address book has put the ubb-help @ reefs.org email address into many peoples'
address books. The two factors combined result in virus-infected emails
that appear to be coming from the ubb-help @ reefs.org address, when in fact
they are not. If you carefully check the headers of those emails (after the
message has been properly quarantined by virus software, of course), you
will find that they come from completely different domains.

If you'd like to read more about the Klez virus, I'd suggest you visit the
following pages on sarc.com-

Sounds neat I need to try something different I have norton 2002 and I caught a bug this last weekend that went through my office 2000 docs and bred there and then attacked norton then it started causing the blue screen of death. I got it from inter office email and it was DL to my home puter and all of office is down now.

Jawbone, did someone in your organization disabled "autoprotect" featue of norton? That is likely the culprit. Some people disable the feature blaming it for system slowness. As the auto protect feature is off, when people downloaded software or "graphics" or jokes, virus came with some of those by passed the Norton and starting to spread within the organization.

I actually issued warning letters to some employees for tempering with norton settings. If I caught them again tempering with it and is going to cost me a couple of hours ridding bugs again, they are walking.

Oh, back to the topic, Rock Diver, you should have nothing to worry about. If you are seeing messages that virus was caught, That's good! It's better then seeing nothing at all.
