Hello,
I know that Leng Sy is not a proponent of using a skimmer w/ the mud, but why not? I understand that the skimmer may take out beneficial nutrients and possibly plankton, but I feel that it would take out minimal portions of the good stuff and more bad stuff. Currently, I'm running the mud w/ no skimmer, and was just wondering aloud. Any thoughts?

I have a question for you regarding you use of Miracle Mud. I am going to be purchasing my first salt water tank in Nov. Do you think using the Leng Sy system is a good way to go for a beginer? Any advice is appreciated.

Dave,
I am not very experienced with the mud yet. I've been in the hobby for 10 years, and have tried all the other methods. I just started a new tank last month and used the mud. So far, its working good. I added acros 2 weeks into the establishment of the tank, and they are doing great. Polyps are fully expanded night and day and color is getting brighter. Can I attribute the success to the mud? I dont know yet. It's too early to tell. If you are a novice, and this is your first reef tank, I would consider getting a skimmer. Probably a good insurance policy
