Filter floss from a fabric store??

I need to get some sort of filter floss to trap larger debris and help clean my water.

I would assume this should be able to be bought somewhere besides my LFS.

Any suggestions and what will work best?

I found some real fine nylon "mesh" at my local fabric store. Sewed it up to make a carbon bag.

You can get the blue/white filter media from an AC dealer or type store and for much less than the LFS. The only catch is you may have to buy a whole roll.
Excellent for catching larger foreign mater and reusable.

I use the black, air conditioning foam filter pads that they sell at HD. They are about 1/16 to 1/8 thick.
