How many of you take "extra" measures on your tank with the anticipation of a fellow reefer's visit. You know, those maintanance tricks you normally wont undergo or admit to in public.

Mine is to run activated carbon for 24 hours before the visit. I of course hide the evidence before it can be found.

I usually will scrape away the coraline algea, I get lazy about doing that. But when I have guests, That has to come off. So I break out the razor.

I like to put in a couple of those fake corals that are painted and then mount a few aiptasia and claim they are the coral polyps extending. Of course, to the trained eye, it looks suspicious, but I just tell everyone that I get all of my corals from the Bermuda Triangle area, and that they look weird because they are very rare and unique deep water corals.

Used to scrape the front glass, but not anymore. It depends on how I've been lately, if I've been very industrious, I do it, if not, then they see my tank as is. Unless, of course, my wife tells me to scrape it. Then I do.

.

Seriously, If I'm trying to impress someone I tidy up, scrape glass, remove the rubberbands from xenia, slight coral rearrangements. I try to do this a day before the visit so all the corals aren't closed up. It's a work of art you must display it properly.

I am a lazy reefer and gettign out a razor blade is not a option. If my pumps are blwoing bubbles "because the water is too low" I do add water

I haven't had a fellow reefer over yet. I don't really know any in the area.
