My Fighting Clownfish

I have had 2 Maroon gold striped clownfish for 8-9 months now and they have just begun to fight. I have had them since they were this -------- big and have grown almost double that since. Well yesterday morning the big one (female) began to pester the smaller one and since then the male has backed away from fighting the female and has moved to the top of the tank. they are both usually at the bottom back corner...the smaller one at top tries to avoid the bigger one when ever she goes to the top to eat... what should i do to help out the situation??

I seem to remember reading somewhere that this is a common thing when they reach sexual maturity and the female becomes a real female.

As long as one is submitting then there shouldn't be a problem. The problem occurs when heither fish will give up until one is dead.

That's why they recomend getting one much larger than another.

At sexual maturity the larger clown becomes female and smaller remains male. Once she has proven her complete dominance she should leave him alone.

Except for the sex change thing,it is similar to us.
