My firefish is doing well, and my readings on my 10 gallon nano 20 lbs LR after 5 days of having him are:
0 nitrite
0 ammonia
5 mg/l nitrate.

I have fallen in love with a true Percula at the LFS. He has bee there for three months, he is very active and eats well. Funny thing is he is only about 3/4 inch long. Great personality this little fish has, and I would like to purchase him.

If my tank is this stable, would it be wise? Next week I plan to put a small 3x3" Zoanthid colony in the tank as well. Will the Percula mistake this coral as a home?

Tell me if you think I'm an idiot. Tank seems happy so far. I do beleive I may be moving fast, but the tank is stable as far as my testing is concerned, and I don't want someone else to buy my puppy in the window.

Some would disagree but I think you could put one more small fish in your tank, and a perc would be a good choice. If I recall, you've only had the firefish for about a week. See if the lfs will hold the perc for another week (put a deposit if you need to) and then add him. Two fish, however will be the max in that size tank. JWT
