I ordered from etropicals and FFexpress about 2.5 to 3 weeks ago. Spent quite a bit at FF but gotta say it was and is worth it. Great customer service, outstanding corals, and fish (had a fish die, and a shrimp but they gave no hesitation for a replacement and didnt even need me to send it back!!!). Etropicals on the other hand isn't bad but in my opinion needs some work if they want to grow. I ordered a clean up crew and my blue legs were so so so so tiny, 2 shrimp were dead on arrival, I had ordered 2 royal urchins and didnt find out they were out of stock until the order came (one of the main reasons I ordered from them). I guess it is partly my fault. I didn't complain to etropicals because the quality of the product reflected what I thought there attitude would be, but I could have been wrong (should have tried, oh well). I do still have faith in them, well I might... I placed an order over the weekend to arrive tomorrow. Again tried to get the urchins that said they were in stock and guess what. Went on their web page today and now they are out of stock. So either I bought the last of them or they just aren't coming. Anybody ever had experiences with them? Good or bad...hopefully good to get my hopes up.

Well, my opinions on eTropicals are not completely unbiased because I have done some business with them. But I will say I've been very happy with the fish I purchased from them. Mortality on shipping was very low, and all of the fish I received required no parasite treatments. I ordered a six line wrasse, a yellow-headed jawfish, a pair of yellow-tail damsels, a flameback angel, and a C. argi.

I had a good order with them besides the cerith snails. The temp of the water was 68 when they got in to me. Mainly because my condo number was not on the package so they sat in the office for 2 hours while I took the day off waiting for them to arrive. thank the lord I looked at the tracking on the internet and saw they were delivered. They were all pretty lifeless and I did a drip for 2 hours I put them all in apile in the front of my tank and called etropicals and the guy told me that was normal. Well I have 22 cerith snail shells my hermits can use now(ordered 20)but took 2 days for all of them too die so never bothered to call them. The funny thing was the trochus snails are all alive and kicking and they are supposed to be harder to keep. I also ordered a lettuce nudibranch and I have never seen it after putting in the tank. Ok wondering where the positive is. The B/W hermits are awesome I lost about 8 first 3 days but the rest have grown very fast and are eating machines. Also the emeralds starting eating small bubble algae the minute they came in my tank. Queen and fighting conch alive and thriving. If I ever order again I will keep away from the ceriths and go for the trochus.

I have ordered from eTrops many times and I like them even more than ffexpress. Any online retailer can have that happen to them and every online retailer has their share of bad times with live arrival, etc. I do feel bad that your order did not come out the way you wanted, but you should have let them know of this. They always work things out and are very happy to do so! They cannot help you if you do not let them know there is a problem and that goes for all retailers.

Hmm that is very strange because all my emails would be answered within a day. Now I usually just call them to make sure we are on the "same page." I prefer them because of their free shipping on packages, so I will order a small reef package and then add whatever else I want. Another box size up is about $2 and you save a ton of money because the shipping will still be free

As for the sponge, most sponge's don't ship well, inverts such as shrimp as well.
If I were you I would call in the orders, that way if you have any questions they can give you the personal attention you require, plus no potential mix ups in ordering. I believe they might match prices as well as long as they are reasonable? Good luck with your livestock!

I agree with you and I should have let them know, like I siad before, but it was my fault I didn't so no complaint here. Anyway, got my order today everything was there and looks great, except for a red sponge where the tops look like they might have been exposed to air and dying since they are white. Overall I am happy, still like a few others more though. I don't like the fact that you do not get an email answer to questions or by any other means (like FF) and they seem a little pricy on some of the fish and corals but over all they seem like a good company in which I would do business with again.

I have gotta agree with you about the reef packages and adding additional things to save on shipping my sentiments exactly. Both times I did this, and that does help a lot.

I had very good results on my eTropicals order. I ordered the Built for You reef package. It contained all of the items I asked for and arrived in great condition. I ordered online late on a Thursday night. The order shipped on Monday (I was sent the tracking number) and arrived on Tuesday. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them.

Didn't ETropicals used to have a coral package similar to the clean up crew - over a certain $ it was free shipping on select corals?

I believe they did and like the clean up packages, free shipping. Not sure why they took it off, perhaps not enough sales on that end or waiting to restock with new stuff
