I will be installing by brand new 250W MH bulbs in my custom made canopy here shortly, I see the best way to secure the reflector and the socket is with screws....but what type and do you seal the screw heads with silicone? Is there a problem with the heat and the silicone melting????

TIA
Joe

corrosion of the screws from salt spray. makes sense to silicon them, but im not sure about the heat issue.

It does make sense to silicone them, but I never have and I have never had any problems with salt spray. Of course, my halides are about 10" above the water surface. Use stainless screws...should be able to get them at Home Depot or any good hardware store. HTH

Use stainless Steel Screws...
They cost more, but isn't your reef worth is?
