As usual, I was feeding my fishies with flakes. I usually hold a pinchfull, dip my hand in the water, and hand feed the cow fish and box fish first. Today, as I was enjoying my time with the cows, the niger dashed over from the corner of my eye and bit a small chunk of my skin off my finger. Damn it hurts, and scared me for a while. Thank God the MH is hanging 12" away from the surface otherwise I also have burn marks to worry about.

I have been nibbled at by cow fish and file fish, both are fine and tickles too.......but the nip from the niger is quite different.

(Kids, don't try this at home............)

I had the same problem with a porcupine puffer, he'd play coy and swim slowly to the food and then strike like lightning, but apparently my fragile finger tip was much tastier than shrimp .Neosporin and bandaid. Good thing fish don't have rabies.

No, it's not as bad as that....(thank god)

It's more like when I bite my finger a little too deep. I was in the office and didn't have betadine around so I took the Lugols and drop 2 drops on the wound. Sh*t, that stings too!

I had my tomato clown bite me deep enough to bleed. Not that deep though. That will teach me to put my hands near her anemones.

Kevin, I reckon your hand are in danger again pretty soon?

(I think those disposable gloves should be a hot selling item to those clown and trigger owners.

Wow - I certainly didn't expect the tip of your finger to be gone. I'll keep that pic in mind when I go fish shopping...

Jimmy,

Maybe we can introduce your trigger to my female GSM clown. I still have to wipe water off the wall every time I try to harvest a BTA because I jump every time she bites me....little brat (not the word I was actually thinking...).
