I have been running two tanks for the past 4 months. A 120 sps and a 360 FOWLR. I want the 360 to become a full blown reef, but don't see the sense in two "like" aquariums. I was thinking of turning the 120 into a seahorse tank. Is this to big? How much lighting is enough? (I have 2 400W MH's now, and would like to move them to the 360) Are there any fish that can be kept with them? What do they eat? How strong of a current is too storng, and are there problems with cyno with the lower flow?

The tanks share the same sump now, 150gallon rubbermaid, and would like to stay with that, would this be a problem?

You can use any size tank. The recommended Temp For SH is 75 to 78 degrees. If you buy CB SH from ocean rider or FFexpress then they will eat frozen Mysid shrimp. As for tank mates you want fish that are dossil. You can keep none stinging corals in the tank. They need lots of Hitches.

The tank has 2x 55 watt Pc lighting 1 10,000k and 1 antic o3. The flow rate is about 3x I use a Cap 1800 with a flow control valve. I have this tank plumbed in to my 120 sump and Refugium. Thanks for the compliment. Have you been to www.seahorse.org yet? some very good reading. also i moderate a seahorse forum at Here

Hey Naso!

I have 2 of John's baby erectus (from the link above) and they are doing well.

I have also got a pair of H. reidi that produce young every 14 days, but they are notoriously challenging to raise.

Drop me a line [email protected] and we can chat horses. I'm near ATL too....we might have to coerce you to come to a Reef Club meeting
