I have a Turbofloater too and I have research this and it appears that some people use the Mag 7. Even without the needlewheel the impeller does a good job of breaking up the bubble/air. It appears that most of the reefers use this pump as replacement.

Supposedly, some Turbofloaters come with a German Aquabee pump. I remember www.championlighting.com having it but I am not sure if they carry it anymore.

When I had a TF 1000 I got sick of the Rio and swapped it out for a Mag 7. The skimmer worked better w/o any needlewheel. The venturi will draw enough air with the increased inflow. It's an easy plumbing job just use flex tube and a barb 45 for outflow. The intake of the mag will fit right into the TF just like the Rio but the mag will be a little ellevated so you will have to build a stand or something to support it. The Aguabee pump comes with the TF multi a different model than you have.

I just bought my Turboflotor 1000 on Sunday, and it does have an Aquabee pump. I was surprised, since I was worried that it would come with a RIO 2100, and it was the only thing that was holding me back from buying this skimmer.

I get my tank on Friday, so I'll try to post how well it works when I can.

I have one heck of a time trying to adjust this skimmer. It's either too wet, too dry or overflowing. Luckily I learned before and it is now in the sump. How does everyone adjust their skimmer? I tried those little knobs that come with it, but the pump overflows the skimmer, so currently I have them capped off and it seems to be helping a bit. I also have an air pump pumping air into the venturi. I am not sure if that is the best way to do it, but without it I get very few bubbles in the chamber. It worked in the begining, but now it sucks. Could someone take a pic of theirs and show me how they have it set up on their tank?

hi.
I heard that there are two version of TF1000. The Aquabee only come with the HOB (hand on the back) version. Regular TF1000 (for the sump) has Rio.

Hi
Several months ago I. E-mailed the makers of the Turbofloter 1000. I asked them if they had a replacement pump for the Rio 2100. They said that they were developing one and it should be on the market soon. From what they told me it should be ready by now. Has anyone heard anything lately about this new pump?
