I got a chili coral about 5 days ago, and it's not looking any better then when I took it out of the bag.
I know their nocturnal and they need to be fed (like my orange cups) I also read that they like lots and lots of water movement. I even put a little powerhead (86 gph) right behind it, so its blowing the water right through cave like ledge its on.
I've checked it everynight (severals times) and it has just stayed droopy???
any help, musch appreciated.
thanks

Have you tried hanging it upside down? if its possible try this and see if it likes it better this way. I read that the chili coral seems to do better upside down...

thanks for asking, actually I'm not sure how it's doing? it's hard to tell. I moved them to under a overhang and hung them upside down. I put a powerhead directly on them (just 66 gph) and last night they extended a few white polyps??? I've posted a pic for you (220 sunroom) thanks I'll keep you posted.

I have had a carnation coral in my tank for about 5 months. I believe these are similar to the coral you are discussing. In the "if I knew then what I know now" category, I wish I wouldn't have bought it.
Mine is also upside down and in the path of a powerhead. It took only a few days to begin expanding its polyps. At first I gave it direct shots of DTs but stopped when I noticed micro algae starting to grow in its area. It has shrunk to about 3/4 its original size when expanded, but seems to be stable now. I have also seen a baby or two sprout nearby. It is not thriving (growing), but it does appear healthy, or at least, not sick.
One feeding method I have not tried is to remove the coral from your tank and place it in a bowl of tank water that is heavily dosed with DTs. The coral supposedly will filter the water clear.

Well the sand isn't really right in with the skimmer or return pump. I have a divider lengthwise in the sump, about 6 inches from the front of sump. (In the beginning I did, but then switched to this)
