Mine is on the small side. I have had him for a couple of months and he seems to be getting along well with the zeebrasoma flavescens (yellow tang). I have been feeding spirulina flakes, which he eats greedily, and frozen adult brine shrimp, which he also eats alot of. He doesn't go for the mysid (which I am trying to transisition the brine shrimp to mysis shrimp) which has higher nutritional content.

He will occasionaly nip at nori sheets placed in the tank. The yellow tang goes nuts for the nori.

I often soak the food in selecon or VitaChem.

mine eats anything and everything I feed him, but always soak food in a vitamin supplement like zoe or selcon. Hippo's are very susceptible to HLLE from vitamin deficiency. Mine was the size of a dime when I bought him a year and a half ago (pet shop called him a blue hippo damsel)and is about 4" now. He's never once been aggressive towards any other tang.

sounds exaclty like mine, i got mine at the same size from tropic isle. 1 year later he is now 4". he eats all meaty foods i throw in. loves raw shrimp, scallop, and the formula foods. my tang is afraid of seaweed selects, if i put some in the tank he trys to fight it with his tail.
