I made the trek out to Coral Reef Aquarium in Seekonk, MA today. It was a 3 hour ride (well, at my speed - mapquest says 3.5) and was well worth the trip.

Jeremy was incredibly knowledgeable and had great livestock. His hippo is the healthiest, fattest, happiest one I've ever seen. He is very picky about where his livestock comes from and it is obvious. Not a single fish there looked in the least bit unhealthy - a very nice change from what I'm used to seeing!

He didn't try to sell me a thing I didn't need (now that I think about it, he didn't try to sell me a single thing!) and discouraged me from wanting corals that I am not ready for yet - not to mention this pretty fish and that pretty fish

And fantastic prices - most stuff was half of what I pay here! See you again in a couple months!

Thanks!

I've never heard of this place before. It must be quite the place if you went all that way and that's the only place you went to! How did you pick this place above all the others in CT, MA, and NH?

The owner joined a thread about me having trouble keeping fish and seemed knowledgeable and concerned with doing the right thing. Pretty sad we have to drive that far, huh livingstone?

Lucky you winger! I think the next time I make the trek it'll be a weekend trip - Providence looks like a pretty city.

It just goes to show you how far people will travel to get good advice and quality livestock. When you invest all your time and money on your reef tank only to add a sick fish or get bad advice from an unknowledgeable lfs owner it can be frustrating.

Even though I am a beginner, coral reef has always proven to be very helpful with great prices and selection.

Lucky for me, though, I only live 15 minutes away.
