Could be bacteria. If it looks like black pepper its black ich. If they look like little zits then it's also ich. You can treat your tank with kick-ich (will not harm inverts and liverock) Fish may be showing signs of ich due to stress of changes of your water and lfs water.

Treat asap or you will have a short honeymoon!

I purchased a Yellow Tang three days ago. The fish appears to be very active but today I noticed on it's right side brownish/redish blotches and tonight they are white. The blotches look to big to be ich, my lfs said it could be a bacteria and now the fish seems to be going crazy. When I bought him he looked and acted fine. His tanks mates are 1 huma huma trigger, 1 niger trigger, 1 stripped damsel, 1 coral banded shrimp and 2 starfish(which all seem to be doing fine). I have a 90gal with 60lbs of LR, crushed coral bottom and a wet/dry filter.

Yikes! 2 triggers with those means trouble in the long run. In the mean time, I don't think you want to treat the whole tank for that tang. You should fish it out and treat it in a QT. You can probably be more effective in a tank with less water as the medicine might work better. Probably some kind of bacteria medicine might help. If you treat it in the tank, the lag time for the tang to heal might let the triggers see it as being in a "weakened" state and guess who's next on their menu? Good Luck!
