I Have a friend staying with us that asked me last night when my wife and I returned from a date "Whats with the crab in the little box?" I have an overflow and siphon box and inside the siphon box (that hangs on the back of the tank) was my sally lightfoor crab.

How it got there is beyond me since the crab's carpace is bigger than the diameter of the suction tube! I am not sure how it climbed up to the overflow box, much less sure how got from the overflow box to the siphon box!?! The siphon box is covered (to cut down on the gurgling) by a home-made acrylic cover.

Any ideas!?!

I had an "accident" one day and notice one of my two sallylightfoot crabs on the carpet. I can only assume it climbed out. It must have climbed out of your tank, walked along the edge of your tank to the overflow box and decided to take a little swim. Poor thing...
