Turkey Wing Clam?????????

Hello all - I received the last of my rock - 40 lbs from gulfview. I found a large clam on it - Dale Barger says its a Turkey Wing, and that it will need to be fed. What confuses me most - it seems to be attached on the side that opens?? It has only opened about 1/8 to 1/4 inch so far. Snaps shut when touched.
1) Will it open more?
2) Is it upside down?
3) what do I feed it?
4) Anything else? Thanks so much.

I believe it's a filter feeder, no special feeding necessary and most likely will receive its required nutrient through the free floating zooplankton and detritus. These filter feeding clams only need to open a little to allow food to float by to feed. Unlike giant clams, you will probably never see it's flesh during the entire lifetime. Just leave it be, it should be OK.
