Marine Depot has nice looking rock. The only problem is you don't get to pick out what you want in terms of shape. I thought about getting some over the net but I really like hand-picking my rock so it all fits together nicely. So it's up to you.

Harbor Aquatics is in northwestern Indiana and has nice stuff. You could probably make a day trip and go down and pick your own stuff out. :)

You're only about 3 hrs away from Harbor Aquatics. I was there last weekend and they have a boatload of EXCELLENT rock (i.e. they got an entire container of rock, which is a LOT of rock.).

When purchasing rock, I prefer to be the one to pick it out and not some retailer over the internet.

I purchased 35# live rock and 15# live sand from Dale at Gulf-View a few weeks ago and am still finding new things cropping up. Dale is great to work with and will set you up with whatever you need.

I have Kupang rock i got from anchofish.com. Its pretty good stuff. alot better than the rock my lfs carries and it might be on sale (if they have it in stock) usually $199/35 lbs lbs delivered. a local lfs here sells walt smiths regular fiji rock. kupang is leaps better than that rock. maybe the premium figi rock is what they should carry.

My vote is for Jeffs. Just got some yesterday. I couldnt believe the life on it. Ive heard a lot of ppl complain about Jeffs having lots of mantis shrimp, which is why I bought his. Ive always wanted one in its own tank. It turns out there was one in there but it had crawled out and got crushed.

We must have gotton ours from the same load at Jeffs Exotic Fish. I just picked mine up at the airport on Friday, it is BEAUTIFUL. Here is the scoop -
50 Pounds Fiji live rock, various sizes, 20 pounds fiji live sand - Total Bill $123.00 and the airfreight from LA to Philly was $47.00 on US Airways

This rock was covered with life, and had various sizes from about 7 pounds down to reef rubble. One note, it is not cured, that is the way I like it. I put it in the tank to cure and I would say it is definitely alive. I measured 4.0 for ammonia after one day, and the nitrites are high too. I say go with Jeffs. Sign up for the newsletter on his site, he has specials all the time.

Also, the live sand was perfect. It is the right size for a sand bed too, with obvious life in it.
