Found one of these in the feather caulerpae in my refugium (Ecosystem Sump 3616) about 1 month ago. Now as you can sea I have hundreds and not as much feather caulerpae. Fortunately, I keep a separate tank of feather caulerpae and these snail things don't seem to like the grape caulerpae also growing in my refugium. Now all I need is a predator so I can quit picking them out of the caulerpae. Neat looking does not = beneficial.

But do they export nutrients as effectively as removing the calurpa from the system alltogether.

A sixline wrasse might take out the babies...I never had juvenile snails of any kind while I had a sixline.

They could help to keep your caulerpa in check. If they are dwindeling your caulerpa down to minimal then thats a different issue.

Well, I'd BUY some to take care of the feather in my tank. I keep ripping it out, it keeps coming back. It just about killed my bubble coral before someone told me that was why the bubble was dying back. And to think I thought the stuff was pretty when I first started seeing it...

It seems like a lot of stuff (fish especially) eat what I call "Feather Caulerpa" But nothing will touch grape and the kind with serrated edges. Could you post a pic of your feather caulerpa?

Thanks,

This nudibrach will eat grape coulerpa. http://siolibrary.ucsd.edu/slugsite/jeff10/jeff11.htm I had 3 in my nano tank and they breed like crazy. So much so ....that they devoured all the coulerpa from the nano and I was suplamenting with coulerpa from my 55 but could not keep up with thier veratous appetite for the stuff and they ate themselfs into starvation.
