Ok ok ok. I've read all of the posts! I gotta have a Euroreef skimmer

. But even the smallest one won't fit in my wet dry, so I'm going to have to get a new sump. I would actually like to get a CS-81 since I eventually will get a larger tank (200-300). Do any of you have a Euroreef in a sump that is located in the stand of a 75g? I'm looking for ideas on how to fit that bad boy in such a small area. Could I just put a 20L long under there? I'll go with the CS-61 if there is no way to fit the larger one in there.

Any ideas are suggestions would be appreciated. Pictures of your sumps would be great also!

Hey Louey,
I, too, just re-did the sump on my established 72 bowfront reef. I had a problem with getting a 20 Long into the cabinet. It would have fit if I could have dropped it down from above, but it would NOT go in from the front (and believe me, I tried!). The biggest I could get in was a 12 gallon container that was made files. It is still very tight for pumps, skimmer and heater . . . Better check to see what will fit . . .
Good luck!

Sea Serpent-what type of skimmer did you put in your 12g sump? What are the approximate dimension of your sump and skimmer.

I have an Aqua C EV 90 - it came with a rio 1700 but I just changed it to a Mag 5. (Works better with the Mag 5). The only problem with the ev 90 is that the outlet needs to be above the waterline in the sump to work efficiently. I built a stand out of pvc to raise it inside the sump (and the pumps fit nicely under the stand. The footprint of the unit is about 5" by 8". I had to be creative with the outlet, though. I hung a little tupperware bowl on the outlet pipe to re-direct the skimmed output back into the sump. works great! As for the dimensions of the container, I don't have the measurements at the moment (I am at work). But I tried many different containers to see what would fit . . . If I didn't have a 6" DSB, I might have considered tearing down the reef to get the 20L in!
Good luck!

P.S. I have learned a lot about plumbing since my husband wants NOTHING to do with the plumbing or electrical of this tank. I see him watching me struggle, but so far I have done it all without him. (he's an engineer)

I have a RR 75G AGA with a 20G sump and a Euroreef CS6-1. I have an AGA oak stand also. Check the dimensions on the bigger skimmers. My SC6-1 is 11.5x10 (approx) and it fits just fine, leaving enough room for a return pump. The height is 20inches, and it is tight getting the cup out to empty it. They are awesome skimmers, but b/c they are insump only, the "living" quarters for them is high. Just measure and make sure it will fit before you buy. You will love it! Have you considered a CS6-3? Stronger Sedra 5000 pump and it just might fit in your setup. Hope this helps.

jchonline-is your 20G sump just a standard 20G tank?

I'm thinking of having Lifereef make a custom sump...$$$$ ouch!

Flamehawk-What all is in your 20G Sump. Skimmer, return pump, sponge filters, etc.? Did you compartmentalize your sump? Do you get micro-bubbles in the main tank? How does your return line connect? Do you have any pictures? I tried the link to your website, but i couldn't reach the site.

There are several good lfs in this area. I've never MO any livestock. You can try Ocean Enviroment, Boardroom Aquarium, Lefaun's Pet store (best prices, buy far), and The Aquarium Center (good prices and selection) Here are somePicturesof my live stock. I need to update with some new pcitures. These are about 8 months old.

Thanks for your response.

hey louey i've got a EuroReef skimmer under my 75. My sump an acrylic wet/dry box- with a divider in the middle. The skimmer fits with just 1/2" clearance but it works fine. I guess all i can really say to help is that you can trust the footprint dimensions listed on the skimmer description and if it's a tight fit, then it'll still work fine. btw, i think euroreefs are the way to go. I've been very happy with mine.

Hi Louey, i have a CS-1 in my 20gal AGA high sump and like jcholine's, it fits perfectly. Hey, My girlfriend is from ft myers. She goes to school here and sometimes we make the trek to ft myers together. Any good reef stores over there worth visiting? JOHNNY
