I just bought a Blinny, (sp) a Strawberry Psodochroma, and a ROyal Gamma, ohh and four pepermint shrimp. These are all the fish I have in my 46 gallon bow front with 23lbs of live rock. The problem is there all hideing in the rock. THe belinny just started venturing out and is walking around. Are the other two going to hide forever, are they the type of fish that just steay in the rocks and come out occasionally?

Give them a few weeks to adjust to their new surroundings. You will rarely see the pepps.
BTW-- I would stop looking behind the tank, over the tank, etc. looking for them, it is only stressing them further. I know you are doing this, because I think everyone has with new fish, including myself.

Assuming there's nothing else wrong, as in your water conditions are suitable, the fish will find their little areas and start to swim around. Feed them, see if they eat. That'll draw just about any fish out in to the water column.

Peppermint shrimp mostly hide during the day and come out at night, but if you're a fanatical reefer like me, you wait as long as you can with the tank in the dark without falling asleep, and then go at it with a flashlight to see the creatures of the night in your tank, like the bristleworms, and the *.pods. You'll probably see the peppermints then.

i have a royal gramma and it comes out sometimes and pokes around. it mostly like to hang around beside or just inside the rockwork. he will come out and cruise around when its dinner time. my peppermints do occasioanly come out in the day. in the last 6 months they have gotten much bolder and sometimes grab a bit of nori at the feeding rock. at night though they love cruise around the rocks.

My peppermints come out all the time. They hid when I first got them for about a month. they will now come outand eat out of my hand. It just takes them awhile to get comfortable.

Mine hid most of the time too when i first got it. but it didnt take long for it to realize that i have no fish in the tank. I would assume that if i had a trigger or puffer, it would hide all the time except at nite. it eats out of my hand. i would really prefer that it died or that i could get it out. It ate my FL green ricordia polyp. It ate all the aiptasia in the tank in the 1st 3 days i had it. the problem for me is that if i go out of town for a week, will this thing eat the coral? (because im not feeding it).

Fish can take a few days to a week or so to feel comfortable enough to come out. Peppermints hide most of the time. Mine seems to have an established "safe zone" and will venture out a couple of times a day, but always avoids the tomato clown's/anemone's territory. Too bad. I bought the shrimp for the purpose of removing tiny aiptasia's I noticed. They're all gone on one side (the "safe zone") with a few remaining on the other side.
