I have been working with sea horses either with my students or my step daughter now for about 2.5 years. I was able to successfully "get" one of the males pregnant last year, but I never saw the babies...
I am still earnestly "trying" to get my sea horses to breed, have watched a couple of videos, and read about them on numerous sites, but still no luck.
Any one out there sea horse experts?
Any inside info. would be most appreciated!

Hi Stephanie.

First, you've got to check out www.seahorse.org ..it's the best site out there for seahorse info. Post over there, a lot more people with seahorse experience can help you out.

What kind of horses do you have? Also, if you could post your water and tank parameters, that would help a lot. Be sure and post those at seahorse.org as well.

Hi, thanks for the quick response. I just went to the site you told me and it is great. I am going to join the discussion group there. We have two Hippocampus fuscus (yellow with stripes and almost 4" long). We also have one that is completely bright orange with no marks at all that I can not identify(she is about 2" long). We are keeping the water temp. between 76 and 78 Fahrenheit. Nitrites, nitrates, ammonia are usually completely clear. pH is around 7.8 and the salinity is about 1.022 sp. grav. We do 20% water changes about once a month and we are feeding them live ghost shrimp. We have had the sea horses I described above since June or July (can't remember now). The strange thing is they exhibit (one of the male fuscus and the orange unidentified sea horse) all the signs of mating, they link tails, swim together, "dance". I don't know, but thanks again for your suggestion.
