I was thinking of hanging my VHO hood to make things easier. Anyone hang their VHOs and do you still use fans? My setup is a 48" wood box.
Any suggestions about hanging the lights so I can do it right. Thanks

I have a hanging canopy with 3 vho's, 48". Only tricky thing is having the tank centered under the ceiling studs that you will screw the suspension rings into. I ended up draining my tank 2/3'rds empty so I could scoot it over a little to make it all line up just right. Other than that pretty straigtforward. I am happy with this arrangement, top of the tank is uncluttered and open.

I have mine hanging. The tank is open. I do like the closed tanks better, but didn't want to try to make a canopy.

I hung the light before placing the tank, that way I knew where tank would have to go in order to be centered.

Here's a pic..

Sorry, off topic.

Yes, don't forget to hang the lights before setting up the tank if possible. I have learned that lesson now.

Yeah it makes it easier maintenance IMO, I'm going to do it so I can raise and lower it with hooks and chain.
Is it still a good idea to use fans if you hang VHOs?
