It was great value for money and came with 10kg of media.
I have a pH controller plumbed into the reaction chamber (the AquaMedic has a port for this). I find I need to keep the pH to 6.2 to get good alkalinity / calcium levels in the effluent.
I'm interested as well in this...has anyone used the Precision Marine Calcium Reactor? And is the two chambers really worth the extra expense on a 120 gallon?
I've thought about MTC Mini's but that is sort of pushing capacity, without much room for upgrade, and I can't justify (or afford) the cost of a Pro-Cal. Anyone else have ideas on what works or does not work?
i have a k2r on a 230 sps tank and it works just fine! i just opened the metering valve for the water to release a fast constant drip and adjust your co2 to reach a ph of 6.5. keeps my tank at 400 to 415 and i have 56 colonies of sps and i only add kalk once every two or three days. also look on ebay thats where i bought mine there have been several that went for like 200. to 250.
reactors =a place to hold media as the co2 dissolves it. duel = more cc so co2 get used up =less waste. You probaly get the same effect from bigger diameter. But IMo GEO or MYREEF and a few others make nice inexpensive reactor= you can get the reactor and co2 for the cost of a brand name reactor only. JME
