Been a long time since I've been here. Recently went into overhaul mode on my system due to lack of attention (long story). Took out all my LR and went off on all the bubble algae (note round dish, toilet bowl, and rectangular scrub brushes kick bubble algae butt. Wood skewers work good for picking at the little stuff). Aptasia also got a party w/ hot water!

At any rate I'm interested in adding some livestock. One concern is sand sifting. Had a cuke but he started to wither off and eventually got to the overflow plugged it and overflowed a gallon of water onto my floor so I'm a little gun shy of those guys at the moment (I could fix from happening again I'm sure). Had a starfish but I'm sure I killed (never found the body) also have read they aren't the most tolerant of sudden shifts etc., acclimation issues. Further I've been thinking another fish would be cool. I've only got 1, a Flame Hawk. Could I get a Goby that would do the sand work and have the Flame and him get along. Will these guys eat/need say Formula 1. All suggestions welcome.

System is a 50g w/ overflow/sump, AquaC EV-90, 50/60 lbs LR, Corals include Wells brain, Moon (favia), Shrooms (lots of brown frilly, good colony of green), candy cane - 3 colonies, another small brain. Tank is not terribly overstocked would be a good description.

Thanks

Believe it or not, I have found that Petland Discounts is cheaper than the large retailers such as Petco or Petsmart. About a month ago DrsFoster and Smith (the new owners of Pet wharehouse) were not charging extra shipping and handling fees on salt but it only pays to do this if you are ordering several items.

Best Regards,

The tank has been up for ~ 3 years. I just did the "overhaul/cleanup" this last weekend. I'm not planning on any new stock for at least a month.
