According to the manual's illustration, the heater's temp control is shown above the water level. Does anyone use this heater fully submersed. It doesn't say that it is submersible anywhere.
Yes, it is. However, it's not UL rated for submersion, so it instructs you to have the top (electronic) portion of the unit above water. I've seen it operate without fail fully submerged.
Yes in the US; No in Canada; the CSA (Canadian Standards Association) has higher electrical standards than UL.
If you have small children around from time to time I would not advise it for safety reasons.
