Hi all - my first post: Been absent from the hobby for 3 years and about to start up my 180 gl. I had great success with my 150 gl see pics( I've taken some time to read through past discusions and I see some negative comments on some suppliers that concern me (Aquacon for example -gee I hope it's not true). I need advice on LFS in the Atlanta or Chattanooga Area (I'm in Dalton, GA) or an online company. Also does anyone know of a wholesaler in the Atlanta Area. Thanks much!!!!

Dale,
I used to know if a good store in Buckhead when I lived down there, but can't remeber the name. Should be in the phonebook or on superpages.com Another office had a SW in their lobby and used them exclusivley. however I imagine since they are in buckhead they are probably pretty expensive. HTH

I would also like to hear of a good online supplier of live rock. I know there are tons of them, but it would be good to hear more info on some of them.

Check out the thread I started a couple of days ago. I am building up a list of online suppliers and asking for ratings. I think it is exactly what you are looking for.

Rate your online supplier

Thank you Super,

I bookmarked that thread and will take some time and really read what everyone has to say later tonight.

If I only knew how much I would have to pay for live rock! I would have looked in the local paper and looked for people selling there reef setup. It would have been cheaper to go that way and the live rock would be cured.

I wholeheartedly recommend www.gulf-view.com
Not just for the incredible critters, life, corals etc I got, but also for the extent to which the rock was cured - no smell at all. A caveat - watch out for Mantis Shrimp. He (also a Dale - Barger) has cheaper base rock all the way up to INCREDIBLE deco rock. Check out his page, my photos below, and do a search on gulf-view on this board. The most important thing about the rock, remember is that it is equipped to biologically filter the tank - full of life and porous.

I have to agree with Neurotech,I bought 40lbs for my 29g from gulf-view and I could not be more pleased!!! The LR was so fresh that I had almost no dieoff, tank cycled in 1-1/2wks. Everything is doing great.

PS:some photo's under "My little reefs" post.
